United Way Board Adds Two New Directors

United Way of Westchester and Putnam’s Board of Directors appointed two community-minded professionals to its roster. Joining the 25 sitting board members are Najla T. Husseini, Senior Manager, Social Impact, Regeneron and Kevin Watsey, Communications and Community Affairs Manager, Suez Water. Their term is for three years.

“We are very fortunate to have a group of highly respected and well-connected individuals, who want to give back to their communities through the United Way of Westchester and Putnam,” said Board Chairman Bud Hammer, who is also the President of Atlantic Westchester, Inc. “Najla and Kevin bring valued skillsets to the organization, and we look forward to working with them as new additions to the Board of Directors.”

Husseini is the senior manager of social impact of Regeneron. She has proven success leading teams in fast-paced settings to solve complex problems, achieving record results in brand visibility, revenue generation, and program delivery. Husseini was awarded the Phyllis Campbell Newsome Public Policy Leadership Award in 2018 and was a Cross-Sector Fellow through the Presidio Institute Fellows Program in 2017. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her master’s degree from American University. She lives in Connecticut.

Watsey is the communications and Community affairs manager for Suez Water. Prior to this he served as a director of external relations and opportunity development for J. Fletcher Creamer & Sons, a national utility contractor. Prior to this, Watsey spent 13 years with New Jersey American Water in roles of increasing responsibility, including as director of government affairs from 2016 to 2019.He earned his bachelor’s degree from Rowan University. Watsey lives with his family in Orange County.
