| This June, United Way of Westchester and Putnam’s Social Work department, in collaboration with Education United, brought families together across four participating schools for a special Family Engagement event. A total of 107 students and parents came out for an evening designed to show that mental health awareness and play go hand in hand. The night centered around social emotional learning through games, giving families a fun and approachable way to explore feelings, build communication skills, and strengthen their bonds with one another. Games like Emotion Jenga, Emotion River and Ladders, and Emotional Roller Coaster gave both children and parents a chance to engage with important mental health topics in a lighthearted, accessible way. |
