Experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to focus on the underlying causes of the most serious problems. Here in Westchester and Putnam, United Way is focused on critical issues like early childhood, financial stability for working families, and getting people to the crucial help they need when they need it.
It takes the whole community working together to reach our goals in these areas. So we bring together citizens from government, business, and nonprofits to citizens like you. Whether getting people to work together, fundraising, or going to City Hall, that's what United Way does. Your contribution goes to work bringing lasting change to our community.
United Way is focused on four impact areas:
Helping Children and Youth Succeed Providing a quality start for preschool children, expanding child care opportunities and keeping youth on track
Strengthening Families Helping family members to overcome stress, build more fulfilling daily lives and find home care and community-based resources for members with disabilities or who are older
Fostering Self-Sufficiency Giving people the boost needed to live independent lives, from job training and access to health care to affordable housing
Building Neighborhoods and Communities Creating a more healthy, tolerant and active living environment by building an even stronger network of services and providing easy access to information about them
