Hudson Valley 2-1-1 is a free, confidential, multi-lingual information, referral and crisis assistance hotline available 365 days a year throughout 7 counties in the Hudson Valley.

COMMITTTEE: 2-1-1 Hudson Valley Regional Policy Board
CHAIR: Appointed by Regional Policy Board
CHARGE: To oversee the direction and operations of Hudson Valley 2-1-1; set policy; plan for the future including, but not limited to, technology planning, fundraising, marketing, strategic and business planning; and to monitor and evaluate call volume and operational performance.
MEMBERSHIP: Each participating United Way is represented on the Policy Board by its CEO and 2 community volunteers.
The volunteers are nominated by their respective United Way Boards of Directors and should reflect the diversity of their community’s constituencies.
TIME COMMITMENT: Quarterly board meetings

2-1-1 Call Center Volunteer Opportunities

ENTRY LEVEL INFORMATION & REFERRAL VOLUNTEER SPECIALIST
This rewarding critical position involves answering incoming calls and offering assistance to callers in need of health and human services.

DATABASE VOLUNTEER
Be part of a fact-checking team that conducts research and updates information about health and human service organizations for our 2-1-1 database.

MARKETING VOLUNTEER
Promote and market 2-1-1 throughout 7 counties in the Hudson Valley Region.

CLERICAL VOLUNTEER
More than just paper-pushing, you’ll be part of a critical information and referral call center that is the heart and soul for health and human services in the Hudson Valley.

ENTRY LEVEL EITC & HEAP INFORMATION REFERRAL VOLUNTEER
SPECIALIST
You can dramatically help qualified low-income working individuals and families receive much needed cash through the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) program or offset energy costs through HEAP (Heating and Energy Assistance Program).

ENTRY LEVEL DISASTER INFORMATION REFERRAL VOLUNTEER SPECIALIST
By taking incoming calls for inquirers in need of, or willing to provide, disaster related services, you’ll be on the front line of helping to restore lives in the event of a disaster!

TRAINING IS PROVIDED
DURATION: Long-term and project specific
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 18 years of age or older
SCHEDULE: Flexible shifts available, no weekends
HOURS OF OPERATION: The call center is open 8am to 8pm
