What is the difference between these two funds?

Donate To United Way and 2-1-1
Funds donated to United Way will be used to help United Way continue to be the voice in the dark with 2-1-1 and to strengthen the long-term needs of our community in education, financial stability and health.

Donate to the Westchester Disaster Recovery Fund
This fund is designed to help the long-term recovery of Westchester residents when all other services are depleted. A partnership between United Way and Westchester County. To pay by check please NOTE "Westchester Disaster Recovery Fund" on the check. Read more.

To pay by check: Mail checks to 336 Central Park Avenue, White Plains NY 10601. Make sure you write which fund you are donating to on on the check.

image1 Volunteer at United Way's 2-1-1 Call Center - All spots currently filled
 Thousands of people have called United Way’s 2-1-1 before, during and after the storm. Volunteers are needed to both respond to 2-1-1 storm related calls and to input the calls into the system so we can give reports to elected officials about the changing needs in the community. Special thanks to The Volunteer Center of United Way for their help managing United Way’s 2-1-1 volunteers.

image2 Donate Food: Find a Food Pantry Near You
United Way’ 2-1-1 is seeing a rising volume of calls from people in need for food. United Way met with the Food Bank of Westchester and Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless to find out what emerging needs there are.

Most needed food items include:
Peanut Butter in plastic, Jelly (squeeze in plastic), Crackers, Tuna Fish, Canned cooked tiny "hog dogs", Can pull-up top soups, Can preferred: fruit, Can preferred: baked beans, Nuts and dried fruit, Baby diapers all sizes, Rice (white, brown, basmati), Water, Canned beans (pinto, kidney, etc.)
