Funds will go to charities that are addressing the ongoing recovery needs of communities most affected by the hurricane, and will be used to bolster United Way's community partners that serve hurricane affected individuals and families, some of whom were already vulnerable and experiencing challenges in meeting their most basic needs.

Westchester County Disaster Recovery Fund

United Way and Westchester County developed a fund to be activated in the case of a natural disaster so that donations can be directed to help families rebuild their lives.

While many non-profits and government agencies like the Federal Emergency Management Agency respond to the immediate crisis, the Westchester Disaster Recovery Fund will help people recover from the long term effects of a disaster.
