Our area is a community of communities. It is made up of more than 50 cities, towns and villages.

United Way of Westchester and Putnam was formed in 1962 by 17 independent Community Chests that recognized there were some activities that could best be accomplished together - and other activities that should continue to be conducted locally.

Today, the following fifteen member United Ways, each with its own board or committee, continue to impact the greater community, and give true meaning to the "neighbor helping neighbor" focus of United Way.
